QME Collections Legal Team

Meet the team

Brett S. Freeburg is the founder of Freeburg Law APC. He has an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Occidental College, completed coursework in biomechanics at CSUN, and spent hours in hospital operating rooms in a previous career in orthopedic device sales. In 2016 he founded LM Management Services, Inc., a practice management company for psychologists and psychiatrists who perform qualified medical evaluations in the workers' compensation system. After hundreds of appearances in front of the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board on the collections side of the QME process, Brett went to Kern County College of Law to pursue a J.D. Brett graduated at the top of his class, participating in mock trial, appellate advocacy and leading his school's team at the Traynor Moot Court competition. After passing the bar exam, Brett established Freeburg Law APC to help parties navigate the specialized world of psychological and mental health injuries.

Brett has managed the offices of numerous Qualified Medical-Legal Evaluators in the California Workers' Compensation system since 2016. He has worked closely with experts to provide administrative support, billing, and collection services to QMEs. During this time, he has developed expertise in the nuances of the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board and the medical-legal collections process.

During nearly a decade of work with numerous expert witnesses, Brett gained experience and knowledge of the medical and legal issues inherent to cases involving mental health injuries. With access to multiple talented and experienced expert witnesses in the psychiatric and psychological fields, the firm supports complex litigation involving psychology, psychiatry, and neuropsychology.
